JULY Update from Team Loomis
A MESSAGE FROM KEANIN
When I decided to run for mayor in early 2022, I committed myself to have honest, authentic conversations with Hamiltonians from all communities, diverse groups and all walks of life. This past month, we have continued to lead with this commitment.
We have canvassed nearly all of Hamilton’s neighbourhoods and have had booths at the Festival of Friends and Pride Festival – the only mayoral candidate to do so thus far. Each conversation has better taught me what the people of Hamilton want, and what they need. As the election heats up with more hats in the ring, we will continue to make this our priority. Hamilton deserves a leader who will listen, and listening starts in the election process.
We also announced the first two pillars of our platform, ‘Homes for Hamilton’ and ‘Fix. The. Roads.’ – a product of listening to what Hamiltonians need.
We have an exciting August ahead with a presence at a number of events, including the Cactus Festival in Dundas and the Winona Peach Festival. We look forward to continuing to engage with Hamiltonians and can’t wait to see what this month brings.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in all we’re doing.
CANVASSING FOR CHANGE
With less than 10 weeks until E-Day, we are thrilled to report we’ve walked over 380,000 steps canvassing through Hamilton neighbourhoods – and we will continue all summer long.
We know elections are won at the doors, and we are invigorated by the conversations we’re having with Hamiltonians and the support we’re receiving for our vision of Hamilton.
If you’d like to join us on the campaign trail, there’s still time! If canvassing is not quite for you, we will need hands on deck to deliver signs in late September and make phone calls throughout August.
Homes for Hamilton
Buying and renting in Hamilton should be easier, and it can be. With his Homes for Hamilton plan, Keanin pledges to build 50,000 new homes across the city, creating jobs and increasing the supply of housing with the goal of bringing down the cost for renters and buyers, and building healthy and complete communities.
Fix. The. Roads.
Fix. The. Roads. is a series of policies tackling Hamilton’s road infrastructure deficit and improving the City’s procurement and communication processes. Our plan will fundamentally change how Hamilton handles road construction and maintenance.
